Does anyone have any info re: The Mayans and the prophecy for 2012?
I’m doing some research for a report…but I’m not exactly sure in what direction to base this report on. Thanks.
One of the units of time used by the Mayans to measure was called a baktun. A baktun is a 400 year period of time. The Mayan calendar predicts the end of the 13th recorded baktun for 2012. It predicts a signifcant event at that time, but not the end of the world.

yap, according to researchers the Mayans have made accurate calendars that depict the sun up to the tiniest detail, they had arches that tells researchers nowadays that long time ago the degree of the sunset and sunrise has changed in direction by minute degrees.. so exact was the calculation of the Mayans that they have made a calendar that is accurate but however ends on 2012…. it is prophecied that doom shall befall the earth on that year. check out geographic channel for any info.

Isn’t it 2014? all i know is that around that period is when the Mayan calendar runs out , right? and a lot of people believe that THAT will be the end for us all? LOL! i don’t know about that one , but try entering the words "Mayan Calender" at the coast to coast-am website and you might find something.
