The radioactivity of DU is pretty negligible. Everything is radioactive, and everyone on Earth has trace amounts of uranium in their bodies. The health problems that may be associated with DU have nothing to do with radiation… its purely chemical toxicity (like with lead or mercury poisoning). In fact, it is likely that lead bullets would be more harmful the DU bullets.

I think DU is used simply because it can tear through a tank.

DU is an extremely dense metal… DU is used for vehicle armor, and it is used because there is some army that no other bullets can penetrate.

What would you rather have, a slightly increase risk of birth defects, or armor that will stop bullets?

Also the health effects are questionable: people have being mining uranium for decades and nothing similar golf war syndrome has appeared in any of these workers. I just don’t see any evidence of a ‘conspiracy’ here.

What is this “obvious answer” that you speak of?
There is little conclusive evidence about the health effects of DU… there are some concerns, and they are being given considerable attention by the army and various international organizations.

How does this relates to the Illuminati? and is it possible that the “obvious answer” is that the effects where unknown in 1991? DU is nowhere near as hazardous as asbestos… was the Illuminati behind that too?

What is asinine is claiming that 450,000 soldier became ill or died from DU… and to claim the DU is nuclear waste.

Yes, it is true that DU is toxic if ingested or inhaled… and DU is suspected to increase the risk of birth defects. However, I think that exaggerating the issue to the point of lies is unproductive.

DU is one of many suspected causes of ‘gulf war syndrome’… no one is trying to cover up the problems with it. In fact in 1993 the navy switch to tungsten munitions.
