Hegel, the Media, ‘Conspiracy Theories’ and You. [pt 1/3]
Part 1 of 3.
This episode (in three parts) explores the popular perception of a ‘conspiracy theory’ and why this common attitude is dangerous to a ‘free and open society’. This episode illustrates how this perception leads to political complacency, effectively undermining democracy substituting it with an illusion of ‘free choice’ underpinned by Hegelian dialectic.
It also examines the crucial role of the media in the ‘free nations of today’, and how secret political agenda’s and institutions (such as the CIA) have molded the role of the media in society over the years.
These concerns are all highlighted in John F. Kennedy’s Speech: “the president and the press” (1961).

The next episode will focus on the role of the FIAT currency system, and the impact of international banking cartels on world affairs.

I agree. Deciding …
I agree. Deciding between Bush and Kerry was like choosing between McDonalds and Burger King, Pepsi and Coke: it was the same product. I remember the campaign. I took notes. Bush talked of ‘a strategy of freedom around the world’, while Kerry (on the so-called left) called for ‘extending the US military at the far corners of the globe’. Bush wanted tax cuts to keep the fat cats rich – so did Bush. The winner, as always: the power elite behind the scenes.
There is no such …
There is no such system where the people doing things get money. Sure they get money too live, but they don’t get back what they have made. If the bank was runned by the people we would get loans close too 0% and the inflation would be low. Or we could have the same system and use the money the banks made too build stuff for everyone. Why isent there a political system for the people, if there is equal rights the majority should have a say. Everything goes the way the mega rich wants.
It makes so much …
It makes so much sense. I have for the last few days woundered about the political system where I am from. And it does not matter what I pick, the choice I want is not there. We got capitalism, and communism, not as black and white as that, but for simplicity sake I call it that. No matter what I pick the rich will get richer and the working man that produces things will get less. Where is the system that limits the upper class? And I am not talking about the “a few million” guy.

I accidently deleted a comment I ment to reply to! The buttons are so close together! I am so sorry, if you notice this please re-write it.
The comment observed that I am using Hegelian dialectic to prove something the wrong way around. This is fair, but I do not attempt to use hegals thoughts to prove anything. I am observing things (common thought patterns) in our society, and using Hegal as a model to illustrate it. I could have used any dialectic which explored the ubiquity of duality

Thanks for posting this, friend, it’s very thought provoking, interesting stuff
I think it’s about …
I think it’s about distraction – keeping both sides in a circular, endless debate while the usurper (enter the conspiracy theory) maintains all power and conditions. If “they” have the power to draw the lines, it will never appear that “they” have crossed them.
what`s your …
what`s your politics?
Neither left, nor right, nor the center. In my opinion to be truly free we can not allow a state to exsist and rule us. Even at all democracy, especially in the form we got it, is just a farce and has nothing to do with freedom. But i´m curious to see the 2nd and 3rd part of your argumentation.

Well in the phenom. Hegel defines it as an articulation. but yeah, standpoint or concept with an antithesis would work
“Wholly new …
“Wholly new diremption?” I think you mean viewpoint or standpoint, or maybe sublation?
This is not an …
This is not an introduction to Hegel, but rather using a small aspect of Hegelianism as a model to illustrate an observation.
I could have made the same arguments without any reference to hegel; as it is not the core argument.
Perhaps you were looking for something in the wrong place?
the definition of …
the definition of dialectic you present as well as the examples makes a mockery of hegel’s philosophy. it’s not about picking one side over the other, or combining both sides to ‘understand’, it’s about ascending to a wholly new diremption.

On 2.58 that is George Bush senior being implied as a follower and believer in free will, is it only me that sees the hypocrisy of this, i don’t think he gave much of a thought to Iraqs free will or letting his own son dodge Vietnam while encouraging thousands of other parents sons to go and die for American free will.
