I watched one …
I watched one episode of Fringe. They curse in it. And some of the stuff in the show is so far fetched. But what really threw me was when they quoted scripture. I don’t know about anyone else but that didn’t make me feel all warm and fuzzy. That is why Christians are getting mixed signals. They see shows like that and they think that it’s ok to say words that they heard in the show. So I give Fringe a -100 score on my scale!

There were several books found that the Catholics/King James decided to leave out including the book of Enoch, the book of Mary, there was even a book of Judas! Several pages were so badly torn in the scrolls that they had to make guesses as to what the missing text was, and so we HOPE that they made the right guess! Of course God, YHWH would have ensured that at least we had the basic plan of life and salvation. He inspired men of old to write, and He could well do that again if need be!

Yes just a month ago I was reading on the dead sea scrolls and the Essenes that lived there. They thought Jesus may have been one. They weren’t able to put many together?..The one book they did was Isaiah and it did happen to match the words of our KJV bible. Is there a book or more they have that wasn’t on the sites I found?
God said he would preserve his word..I don’t think he’d let us go without it if we need it.

lol, I am only versed in the Word because I won a full scholarship with the stipulation that I HAD to major in theology and because I had to teach the senior high class in a large UPCI church in Dallas for years. The fact is that King James made mistakes! He came up with so many “versions” and the Catholics under him decided which books to keep and include in the Bible and which to toss out. Toss out?!! They were all a part of the Dead Sea Scrolls my friend, so give them a look~!

You have an excellent point of course! Man is the “timekeeper” who set up calendars according to the sun and moon (days), and the seasons and broke them down by using the planets and stars. God of course is eternal. I just have to TRUST that the Jews, knowing the importance of Shabbat (the Sabbath) would have kept close account of what day is the 7th as they were commanded to rest on that day. Tithing was a commandment, but to WHOM the tithe was to be paid and what it was for is the debate!

He DOES lead us and it is up to us to know when he speaks truth to our spirits!!

I have certainly NEVER discarded the Acts 2:38 plan NOR the “Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is ONE”!! We find truth and carry it with us forever as we seek MORE truth and that is the “line upon line, precept upon precept, here a LITTLE, there a little” The Holy Ghost WILL lead us into ALL truth, which to me lets us know that most likely none of us has it ALL right now or else we wouldn’t need to be LEAD would we?!

But you receive the gift throguh obedience, we must repent and wash away our sins via baptism..some people don’t believe that must do that and so don’t obey it–yet we must and then the gift of the spirit is given us. Jn.3:3-5,Acts 2:38.
