Im kind of scared.

Everyone is reminding me that it is in like three years

and i watched this video in history last year and it was about how the Mayans pedicted it, and they are 3 seconds of all of there predictions
.

but the bible says we wont know the date/time of the last day on earth

what will happen?

The only thing that the Mayan "predicted" (and may not happen for them) is a time of celebration. They had set up their day-count calendar so that the day with the round number (day number 13.00.00.00.00 in their system) would fall on their New Year’s Day (Winter Solstice).

That celebration for them would have been like January 1, 2000 for us.

Sure enough, ours got ruined by charlatans predicting the end of the world (Y2k). In the same way, other charlatans (they are not the same charlatans, I checked) have invented a fake prediction of the end-of-the-world for the Mayan’s big day.

One problem is that the video that "proves it" was prepared by the same charlatans…

It is as if I pretended to be your uncle and, to "prove it" I would show you a video where I say "I am your uncle". Not a very convincing proof.

Some people say that it might be an Enlightenment. Some kind of New Age. Even that is not sure.

We are not even sure that the Mayans, when their empire was strong around a thousand years ago, really expected a New Age of Enlightenment. The only indication of that is a book that was written by a Spanish priest around 500 years ago (five centuries after the cultural decline had begun). Even that book is lost: we only have a translation that was done by another Spanish priest about 250 years ago. This book (the translation) is called Popol Vuh — it was in Chicago the last time I checked.

So it is difficult to say that the beliefs in this book really represented the beliefs of the Mayan people, or simply the hopes of the mountain villagers that the priest met, 500 years after the Mayan people started losing their empire.

But from a scientific point of view, none of the doomsday promises that have been made for 2012 will happen.

None.

Zero.

In fact, most of them are just plain impossible.

Winter solstice- December 21, 2012 – is just the revealing of the ‘antichrist’ or the ‘man of perdition’ at the mid-point of what Christians call the 7 year Tribulation (just subtract 1260 days to get the start and add 1260 days to get the end). Satanists and many pagan cultures from every corner of the world all throughout history have celebrated this like the Sumerians, Babylonians, Cherokee, Hopi, Chinese I-Ching (confirmed by Terence McKenna), Mayans (Pacal Votan; Chilam Balam of Tizimin, Mani, Chumayel; Jaguar Prophet), Egyptians, Celts, etc. This evil event is called "the abomination that causes desolation" that will be set up in the Jewish Temple’s Holy of Holies when the antichrist is imbued with the spirit of satan himself. When will Jesus come? Only God Himself knows exactly, but very soon in "the twinkling of an eye" and like "a thief in the night". If you believe or not, that is up to you; either way it still comes.

Christians look forward to this as it means they will soon join their Saviour & Redeemer in the Millennial Kingdom of the next Age and their Heavenly Father later as "Children of Light". If you try to equate 2012 with Y2K or some other date that cried wolf, then you will be making the worst mistake of your lifetime. Research all these things FOR YOURSELF!

For those of you that dont know, the mayans along with anicent chinese calendars predict Dec 2012 as our doomsday. The facts behind this are that earth will be re-polarized, so in other words the earth will make a sudden shift in its axis which will cause all sorts of natural catastrophes. Can our extinction be prevented, I dont see any way that we can get out of this mess. This is a very real threat, and I really do think its going to happen. What do you think of all of this.

There are no facts behind this, only half-truths and whole lies. Don’t believe me, we’ll see in 2012 when you’ve blown all your money on nonperishable foods and a fallout shelter and I’ve gone and done something useful.

According to the mayaan calendar the world is supposed to end in 2012? Do you think we will be extinguished before then???BTW the mayans havent been wrong about anything so far, and havent been off by even a second so why does in their calendar stop in 2012???

I think the Mayan clandar ends in 2012 because it was a far as they expected to have to plot it out. It’s a sort of "end of the world as we know it" thing. As it turns out, they were about 600 years too optimistic. Their world certainly came to an earlier end. I don’t think I agree that the Mayan calandar hasn’t been wrong since, although I certainly agree that it is remarkably precise in terms of keeping time.

Human kind will survive long after 2012. All things considered, I suspect it would take some very serious events and a period of many decades to eradicate humanity completely, after all. We’ve pread across the globe into nearly every environment, and we adapt fairly quickly to change. My sincere hope is that 2012 will mark the end of Earth being the center of human history as human kind takes the first leaps to colonize other worlds.

Alot of scientists all over the world have said themseves that it is very possible. December 21 is when the earth lines up with the black hole. The myas say this aswell,along with a few accient people.

First of all scientist are not 100% sure there even is a black hole in our galaxy and no i don’t think anything will happen.

Yes, we will survive. We’ve had several solar storms and CMEs (coronal mass ejections) this year, despite being in a very deep solar activity minimum, and you were entirely unaware of it each time it happened. Solar activity is monitored by a half dozen satellites 24/7/365. We have two to 4 days warning new before flares and coronal mass ejections rotate around the sun to face the Earth. The Earth’s and the sun’s magnetic fields actually connect. All of this has happened within the past year, yet you have been entirely unaware of it.

Edit: As I was trying to say when I got interrupted, we DO have the technology to predict solar storms because of the multiple satellites observing the sun 24/7/ 365. Helioseismology is a cutting edge research area.

Also will an underground vault help in any way and how will it and …….this is an important queston and i thought god put us on this world to live are lives not to destroy us………..

The day after the 2012 prediction dies the same death as all the other end-of-the-world myths, you better still have all your money because you will need it. The world will carry on. And then there will be the next prediction announced that will be equally ridiculous.
Don’t you know how many times the end of the world has been predicted and then NOT happened? At least a hundred times! Some people make a living from predicting it time after time. They just keep advancing the date ad nauseum.

To go on with your life as usual.

Or you could do what some people did when they knew that the world would be thrown into disaster at the turn of the millennium 1999-2000. They made bunkers so that they would most certainly survive the terror that was on the way and filled the bunkers with dried and canned food so that they would have something to eat once the world outside was dead and barren. … Such a good thing they did all that, the world wouldn’t have survived without them.

we all know about the doomsday vault in norway,a preparation for any disastrous events which may come.

2012 is a hoax, but if you want to build a safety shelter for tornado or earthquake, it should be 6-8 feet under ground with room enough for people, bedding, supplies, water, clothing, food, fuel, batteries, radio–pretty big if you’re planning on being there a while! Don’t forget latrine facilities and waste management. Avoid open flames as they use up oxygen and pose a risk with fuel. Good luck.

If people think the world if going to end, shouldn’t we prepare for it?
I’ve heard of something Called Vaults. I guess my friend told me that Vaults are enormous underground shelters that shield anything from the outside. It sounds like a Great idea. Do you think the Government should Test people in Vaults? If it is a success they should start making them. Don’t you think?

The 2012 hoax-off has many claims, even quite a few that are self contradicting, and many others that contradict other parts of it.

It is difficult to calculate where it began. It seems several different armageddon’s sort of (slowly at first, then faster and faster as of recent months) "merged" into one.

First off, you have the Mayan Calender, (a cyclical calender) that turns over to a new Baktun on Dec. 21 (or 23 to some people’s interpretations) 2012. It’s the equivalent of a new year’s day for them. The calender rolls over, like your car odometer would… and you car doesn’t end when it ticks over to a new front digit, does it? The guy to blame for this nonsense is Jose Arguelles. Do a wiki search on him to determine if he has any understanding of archeaology or interpretation of Mayan artifacts, (credentials are lacking, imagination is not). Then decide if you wish to believe him or not.

The Planet X nonsense is the concoction of Nancy Lieder. She tried to sell books to "survive the end of the world" when this planet was suppossed to crashinto earth, or cause a pole shift, or whatever… back in 2003.

Since she didn’t sell enough books, she republished it, changed the date to match with Jose Arguelles’ end of the world, and, VOILA! A new money making machine with zero scientific evidence whatsoever!!! Hooray! A sucker is born every minute… And Ms. Leider wants that suckers wallet. Throw her lil sidekick Mark Hazelwood into the mix, and you have a recipe to confuse people into scaring them into emptying their wallets.

It’s a shame if you ask me.

Zechariah Sitchin’s Niburu?

Ooooh, don;t get me started. First of all, he misinterpreted an ancient Sumerian artifact. Fudged some dates on some mass extinction periods on earth, and came up with some 2085 date for the Annunaki to come back and get the gold from earthlings that we’ve alledgedly suppossed to have been mining for them for a few millenia.

Problem is, Sitchin’s fake planet was not intended to come in 2012, he originally claimed 2085, but wikipedia says he claims it will return in 2024, either way he is upset the 2012ers had no problem hijacking his planet and throwing it into the mix, not that a fake planet will come by no matter what hypothetical year you attribute to it.
