The 2012 Doomsday Prophecy
The end of the world prediction, which is suppose to occur in the year 2012, has been a major concern for people that believe it will truly happen. It began with the prophesy of Nostradamus during the great Renaissance Period. Why has the 2012 Doomsday Prediction become such a controversy?
Anyone who have read the translation of Nostradamus from the original French language can see for themselves that there have been more predictions come true than not. However, there are some scholars whom do not agree with the translations. They state that some events were added by one of his sons, or followers.
However, the 2012 Doomsday Prediction is not just about the prophesies of Nostradamus. It was foretold long before his time. The date of December the 21, 2012 marks the end of several civilizations calendar, such as the Mayans, and the Aztecs. These calendars were part of much greater cycle which included approximately 26,000 years, which is speculated to end on December 21, 2012.
The Hebrew writings and the King James Bible talk about the destruction of the world; however, it does not give an exact date. It does describe some battles that will take place. So some believers have researched the locations on modern maps of today, and found where certain events were going to take place, which will begin the 2012 Doomsday Prediction.
The Native American Indians have great prophesies about a worldwide change that is to occur in the near future. They state that we are now at the end of the final prophesy before the change is to happen. So what sort of changes are we looking for in a new age, if it is not to be a global catastrophe where human kind will be destroyed. Both the Hopi Indians and Nostradamus state that some of the wicked things can be changed if mankind will change their evil ways.
Other theories that come from prophesies of today, reveal that the Earth will shift on its axis again; brought about by a giant asteroid which is suppose to hit the Earth. However, an asteroid that large would not actually have to collide with our world. If it even came close to our atmosphere it would cause a worldwide cataclysm. It would destroy the ozone layer completely; the Earth would experience tidal waves, and horrific hurricanes and lightning storms that would last for days at a time.
Edgar Cayce predicted that much of the United States would disappear, just like Atlantis did. He went on to say that the Great Northern Lakes would flow into the Gulf of Mexico, which would split our nation in half.
You may say to yourself “There is nothing I can do about it, so I am not worried.” However, if you do believe in these things there are things that you can do. The Bible says that there will be many survivors.
First you could read all the material that you can find on survival. Then you could prepare not just a first aid kit, but a survival kit, which contained clean drinking water, blankets, clothing, medicines that may not be obtainable later, and most of all have some kind of a plan as to what you and your family should do, just in case such events do occur. Hold regular family meetings to remind everyone where items are and what and how to do certain things.
many don’t believe in the 2012 prophecy,but is it just a coincidence that the global crisis is so close to it?
what IF this global crisis will lead to something more serious,and ….as a matter of fact …2012 is almost around the corner….!!!!

One of the units of time used by the Mayans to measure was called a baktun. A baktun is a 400 year period of time. The Mayan calendar predicts the end of the 13th recorded baktun for 2012. It predicts a signifcant event at that time, but not the end of the world.

I saw the show about everyone believing that doomsday or the apocalypse was going to be on Dec. 21, 2012 on the history channel…….does anyone else believe this? What do you think?
It is simply a change in the age of the Zodiac. Currently we are in Pisces the age of the Saviour, and next, Dec. 21, ’12 is Aquarius age of the Destroyer. Hopi Native Americans believed this also, and the Egyptians, Sumerians, and countless others. It is not the end of the world, just a change in the stars as they saw them.
Is anyone up for creating a new world disaster prophecy to displace the 2012 crap?

ok. in 2020, evrey human will be extirmenated by disney channel, and human scientists who survived the disaster in an underground kitchen willl breed mankind with bees and some kind of human bee hybrid superhuman thing will repopulate the world untill big birds eat them all and then the birds somehow are jelous of old remnants of humans like, clothes and computers and stuff and evovle into humans and then we eat only oranges and mincemeat for ever and ever. What is surpposed to happen is that a brown dwarf star called nibiru is surpposed to past very closely by (it has a massive gravity field) which will mess with our poles making a polar shift and a whole lot of other not cool stuff..
The mayan calender is surpposed to stop here and reset for the next time nibiru comes round to say hello. There calendar is the most reliable calendar in the ancient world only been off by 2 minutes to ours.

There is no prophecy. The Mayan calendar is cyclical, and its cycle simply ends on that date, starting another cycle. The Mayans never believed that there would be the end of the world when the cycle ends. To the contrary, reaching the end of the cycle would be a reason to celebrate.
The "end of the world" nonsense was started by people who wanted to cause a panic and use it to get money out of people.

Katun 13, ultimate destruction, is on the horizon in only 5 more years. On December 21, 2012 the Earth, Sun, and the milky way’s black hole will become perfectly aligned with our galaxy.
Some astrologists say Earth will rotate backwards and thus whirl us into another dimension.
Others say we’ll simply just die by the sun’s next stage of violent surges.
Or maybe Jesus is comming back for us. lol
Honestly! What do they teach you kids in school these days?
First, the Earth and Sun are already part of the Milky Way, which IS our galaxy! Since the Earth is revolving around the Sun, and our Solar System is part of the spiral arm that revolves around the center of the Milky Way ALREADY your questions betrays a shocking lack of basic astronomical knowledge. The black hole at the center of our galaxy is roughly 50,000 light years away! If it were possible for it to have a direct effect on us EVER, it would have a direct effect on us NOW. Perfect alignment? In what terms? The three bodies probably "align" several times a year. So what?
Sigh! The Earth CANNOT rotate backwards. At least not until it stops rotating completely. Even then, something would have to happen to add energy to the Earth to get it rotating in the opposite direction (like a major collision) which would probably just destroy the Earth anyway.
I suppose the sun could go into a violent phase of activity the likes of which have never been seen or suspected and could make the Earth uninhabitable. What makes 2012 more likely for this to happen than 3012? Or 1912? Or 2112? NOTHING!
This Mayan Calandar stone thing is all hooey! Do you know why the Mayan Calendar stops at 2012? I’ll tell you: The dude who was carving the damned thing finally got tired and laid down his hammer and chisel! Or he just dropped dead! Or he ran out of space. And that’s all, it doesn’t mean anything!
