Question regarding Barack Obama, 2012 Doomsday & Mayan prophecies?
Why do some people assume that the Mayans are the ones who believe that Barack Obama is the Anti-Christ?? :-/
Can anyone of you here please tell me what are their reasons for their assumptions made regarding this?? :-/

Doomsday prophecies will bring out crazy ideas as the people who really buy into them begin to try and guess what will happen.
Then when it doesn’t, they quiet down for a while, find a new date, and trudge it all up again with a new idea and whoever the new president will be elected (which will hopefully happen in 2012).
Every president in my life time that I can remember was accused of being the Anti-christ so it’s not surprising Obama will be stuck in the stories somewhere. But the Mayans didn’t believe in a Christ, let alone an anti-Christ.

Throughout history, some people have claimed to know exactly when the world was coming to an end — and in every case they were wrong. There is no reason to believe it will be different with this prediction (if in fact it even is one — which many scholars doubt).

Yes, some day the world as we know it will come to an end — but not one second before God causes it to happen. In that day, Christ will return to earth to overcome all evil and establish His kingdom of perfect peace and justice.
When will that be? Jesus warned us not to make guesses or firm predictions, because "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" (Matthew 24:36). At the same time, the Bible does tell us that certain things must take place before Christ returns — and many of those are happening today.
The most important question, however, is this: Are you ready for the day when you must stand before God — either because of death or because of Christ’s return? Don’t dodge that crucial issue, but make sure of your salvation by trusting Christ and giving your life to Him today.

I mean, accusing a politician of accepting bribes or cheating on taxes is one thing; naming him as the "Seven-Headed Beast of Revelation" (a.k.a.
