what is one of the biggest prediction the mayans had gotten right that will back up the 2012 prediction?
i haven’t heard of any of the Mayan predictions that came true so i think thats why i don’t believe the 2012 thing, also because what if they just got tired of predicting so they happened to stop on 2012

Lol well the mayans calender is more precise than our own, like lunar eclipses. solar eclipses, and like when the planets aline, Im a believer. Honestly I dont think its the end of mankind, I just think that something chatastrophic will happen and many will die, but not everyone. In the bible when god fled the earth, thats whats going to happen, (a reason why I dont believe in god very much) he said he wouldnt do it again but proof shows that when the tectonic plates shift the ice caps will melt flooding the earth. New land will rise and new caps will freeze. Not to mention yellow stone is due to erupt( its a super volcano) the ash could cover a continent off of one of those bad boys, which will be catastrophic, ash covering means no flights, and many other stuff includeing freezeing weather. The guy above says its a myth but this movie didnt make this up, they made this movie based on the mayan calander and whats supposed to happen. Its not a made myth to promote the movie.

None, other than the fact that they took very accurate records of the stars and planets. Btw the prediction doesn’t say the world will end. It actually says that; that’s the date the calendar ends. It may be that according to the calendar we are entering a whole new cycle that repeats itself astronomically.
Some say though that the Aztecs prediction of the arrival of the vengeful god returning matches up with the arrival of Cortez. And that the Aztecs greeted him with so much hospitality as to appease him. But this may be an exaggeration after all the Catholics destroyed so much of the history of the native people and viewed their religion, predictions, and even astronomical and mathematical achievements in their society as satanic or below them. Such an idea that the Aztecs thought Cortez was a god could easily have been made up within the ruthless ego of Cortez himself; after all it’s the winners who get to write history. (The Aztecs are a different group of American people)
My personal take on the Mayans is that they were smart people who understood a lot about the movement of the stars but on the other hand they also worshiped a feathered snake god. Like every societies contributions it’s a give and take. I’m pretty sure there is no feathered serpent and I’m pretty sure 2012 isn’t the end of the world.

They never predicted the end of the world, they predicted the end of a cycle not even of their calendar…. so hollywood took this and made up the end of the world story
and one of the predictios that they got right is that around 1997 comunication breaking space and time would be possible , so that would be the internet….
Ignorant people feed a sense of fear about 2012 they ar braiwashed for what the masses say and hollywood show’s they were a very advanced civilization that evolved very much faster than ours and hadded really advance scientist to have an astronomical chart like that, their calendar is now apooven as more acurette than the gregorian , our calendar but we have been using this calendar so many time that its not possible to change it anymore.
Please learn more about the Maya calendar they bring real facts about a change of cycles ,NASA is amazed how did they know that the solar activity would be at its peak when even they(NASA) didn’t know this until a few years.
