Is the prediction of 2012 true?
I watch armageddon week in History channel just a couple of days ago. I watched about the prediction of Nostradamus in 2012 and I am
really freaking out about it. Do you think it’s true, or is it just a flat out
lie?
The Mayan Long Count calendar clicks over from 12.19.19.17.19 to 13.0.0.0.0 on 21st December 2012. That’s all there is to it. It’s the same as our calendar changing from 1999 to 2000. Some people seem to think that this change ‘must’ be accompanied by some sort of disaster and have concocted all sorts of ridiculous predictions, every one of which is unscientific nonsense.
Nostradamus never predicts anything correctly. His verses are so obscure, they can be made to mean almost anything. When a major event takes place, his followers look at his writings and say "Ah yes, that’s what he must have been talking about". When not even the most liberal translation of his verses can stretch their meaning to cover some event, they just invent another verse and pretend he wrote it. When they try and make predictions for the future, instead of the past, they invariably fail, as will be the case in 2012.

Is there actual proof the world will end in 2012? (except for the prediction of the mayans)?
I don’t want the world to end, I don’t want to die young either. Can someone give me a link or something to proof that the world will not end at this time. Also should we believe the Mayans on this one?
on december 21 2012, a new era starts. it’s NOT the end of the world. we’re going to be lined up with the center of the milky way. it is said that there is a black hole in the middle of it, and it will affect our solar system or something, it’s NOT true.
the world won’t end. you have nothing to worry about. I used to think it was too, I researched it in depth, the mayans NEVER said it was the end of the world. it’s just a beginning of a new era
Have you considered how the Global Economic Crisis might be playing into the 2012 Prophecies?
Considering the year 2012 is just 3 years away, with all it’s prophecy and dire predictions and, the possibility the global Economic Crisis we are experiencing might be a "Grand Super Cycle" – how do you think this might all tie in together?
Everything revolves around history, history repeats itself, so as the problems with the economic crisis continue so does the thought of a depression along with everything which comes along with it. So to a point I can agree with you, the calender predicts the world will come to an end, I believe it will no longer be the world which we have come to feel comfortable living in, it has already been going on, I do not believe that the year 2012 will be any different, time moves on and so does life and what ever happens will happen, things will only become worse not better, then the cycle will begin all over again.
