Not just another Mayan Calendar 2012 question?
I get so sick of those, but something in the news got me thinking about the Mayan Calendar again. The Hadron Collider is being prepared to run again in October of this year. The article I read said that it may take a few years to get it fully functioning. A few years equates to roughly 2012? Coincidence?
I know they say the atom smasher is completely safe, but who’s to say for sure it won’t be the Armageddon Machine for us all?
If the Mayans couldn’t predict a bunch of invading Spaniards, then can their prediction of "the end of the world" really be trusted?
Anyway, it’s just a digit overflow. Dates after 2012-12-21 need to be written using 5 digits in the ancient Mayan notation.
