I am so scared about 2012 doomsday prophecy?

I’m so scared about 2012, almost to the point I can’t sleep at night. When it happens, will we have a quick, painless death? Or a long, painful one? How can you prove that? I don’t want the world to end…But I am getting so freaked out. What are your thoughts on 2012?

Relax. What will be, will be.

What do you think about the movie 2012? What do you think about Mayan prediction?

Is Dec. 21, 2012 a new era according to Mayan prediction? A new era about what?

That stuff doesn’t interest me at all. All of it is just a bunch of crap, and there are some idiots in this world who actually believe it. What is this world coming to? It is just awful anyway.

Good debunking of the 2012 prophecies?

The only thing that causes me to give any attention to the 2012 prophecies is the fact that diverse cultures seperated by time and space predicted this same date. I’m not asking for scientific debunking of any impending disaster. What I’m asking for is this:

What do the skeptics have to say about Nostradamus, I Chang, astronomists, etc. (even the new web program I can’t remember the name of) all predicting December 21, 2012. Seems to be an impossible conicidence, don’t you think?
My mistake…I mean "astrologists"

It seems to me that "the only thing" that causes you to consider that year, or that specific date, as an occurance of "something" is based on nonsense in the first place.

The Mayan prophecy???

It was written in the late 1960s- 1970s, by a non-Mayan, a non scholar, a non-Historian … a non-archaeloogist… it was created by an ART MAJOR, by the name of Jose Argulles (he has subsequently changed his name, I wonder why?) So this "ancient" Mayan prophecy is all of forty years old.

I Ching? It’s a coin flipping practice. There is no prophecy. No anything. It is a practice. No more accurate in predicting anything than rolling dice, or anything the confirmation bias can easily disaffirm.

One strange individual, who enjoyed taking hallucinogenic medications and writing fiction about the things he witnessed during his "trips" came up with something called "Timewave Zero" basically, he maniuplated his findings to make the I Ching appear to have a significant "something" for 2012… yet he ignored the fact that 1997 dipped lower… and by his interpretation, that means it should actually been more catastrophic… than the holocaust!!! I don’t remember anything in 1997 that equated to the deaths of several millions of innocent victims.

So yeah, basically, Terrence McKenna’s jibberish is a nice fear-mongering bookselling gimmick, just like all the rest of the 2012 Charlatans… which, by the way, only have old, recycled "doomsdays" that never happened.

Seriously, check out http://abhota.info notice how virtually every 2012 claim had come and gone, more than once, with out an apacolypse, in the last several thousand years?

what do you think the best way to survive 2012 is?

on land, sea, or forest? 3rd world country?

considering that the Earth’s changes will occur from beneath the crust, there is not much you CAN do…most animals will die, if not all…but I would like to be on land since it is the most stable out of all the earth’s elements
