Thought, Does the Obama presidency reflect on the mayan 2012 doomsday prophecy? hope not.?
The last year of the Obama Presidency falls on the Mayan calender dooms day. is there any significance to this?
I think that the doomsday prophecy is a very interesting idea, as many people have been talking about the the chaos that will supposedly occur in 2012 as of late. There are many people who believe that Obama is the “antichrist”, and will lead America to her doom because of his political ties, beliefs, inexperience, and willingness to meet with terrorists, but I would be more concerned about other countries and their reactions to him/his decisions (as well as America was a whole), and Obama/the government’s reactions to other countries’ choices (such as the Russia/Poland missile conflict that is going on now, or the sneaky maneuvering in the Kremlin that may lead to Putin becoming president again).
I really hope that the Mayan doomsday isn’t true, but there certainly may be “clues” here… like his lack of experience, the Middle East conflicts, Russia’s new goals to attack EU countries and American allies, lots of new secret nuclear activity and deals, the scary fact that there may be a political reason as to WHY Putin wants to become president AGAIN, as well as the other calamities that are going on in the world right now.
However, one could argue that Obama will “save” us from a Mayan doomsday, or that the 45th president-elect will be the cause (as the Mayan doomsday is predicted to occur in December, after the 2012 election). Then again, some people do think that the whole thing is a hoax, or that instead of a “doomsday” there will be some type of enlightenment, world golden age, or other event.
Personally I really hope that there isn’t a doomsday and that no one person is the cause of any chaos that might ensue in late 2012. What place on earth will survive 2012?
I would assume brazil and south africa are the only good places, but Im not even so sure about these because of the proximity to the equator after the pole shift, please, and advice greatly appreciated. Yes 2012, is VERY REAL, it is FACT that this is going to happen.
There are no good places like Brazil and South Africa if the world will end and everyone perishes.
But do not worry. Do not be scared. I assure you that the world will not end on 2012 December 21 but it will end one day. Nostradamus’ prediction of when the earth will end is far into the future, past about 3700. He still has many prophecies that are not fulfilled yet. Remember that if there is a beginning, there is an end.
The Mayan’s Mesoamerican Long Count calendar forms the basis for a New Age belief, first forecast by Jose Arguelles, that a cataclysm will take place on or about 2012 December 21 (Wikipedia). It will be the end of a Mayan calendar cycle to start a new cycle.
In the book of Revelation, it tells us about a period of a thousand years of peace. Has this occurred already since the time of Jesus? Not yet. That will still come. Those that give predictions of the world’s end, such as 2012 and numerous times during the past, are pseudo-preachers. Have they talked to God directly? If so, give proofs.
But there is something that is certain—and that is our physical death. This is what we should prepare for. It may come when least expected. We do not know the day and the hour. It will come like a thief in the night. So we just have to be prepared all the time. Search for the true God and when we find Him, follow His commandments and remain in Him until our last dying breath.
This is all that we have to do. It is faith in the true God that we can take with us when we depart from this world. If we denied Him, He will deny us also before the Father in Heaven and send us to Hell. This is very scary – to live in Hell forever. If we knew Him and loved Him and followed His commandments, then He may reward us to live with Him eternally in His kingdom in Heaven. This is the survival kit that we should have.
What is also certain to happen very soon (in about 2012 or earlier) is World War III and this is a nuclear war. This calamitous war will start from the Philippines, at Spratly Islands in particular. The Spratly Islands lie on the South China Sea mostly near the coast of the Philippines. The Holy Spirit told us that the troubles in the Philippines is like the wick of a lamp. Once the wick is lit, it will be on and aglow. He told us about this prophecy more than a decade ago. Please read what is happening in the Philippines now. Spratly Islands which is being claimed wholly or partly by six countries including China is in the news and considered a tinderbox, a flash point. It is very rich in oil and gas resources, more than the reserve of Kuwait. The high price of oil may trigger the grabbing of these islands and start the war.
Four independent prophecies point to the certainty that this will happen. Why do people try to link Mayan 2012 religion to Bible Revelations?
The two religions are very different with Mayans using innocent human sacrifices to multiple gods and Christians scorning damage to flesh and belief in a single God.
I don’t think anyone seriously thinks this.
One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world.
Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.
"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)
Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.
The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.
The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus’ advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.
Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.
